Support Vuokatti Safaris Huskies

Become a dog sponsor and support our dog community!

With dog sponsorship, you support the well-being of our dogs and help us continue our business despite the corona epidemic. We have been running a herd of about 90 sled dogs in Vuokatti since 2004.

Revenues from the sponsorships are all directed to our husky residents. Revenue is used for dog food, veterinary and other expenses related to the welfare of dogs.

To join as a Dog Sponsor you can choose sponsor packages of different sizes. Each package includes a guided program at our Husky Kennel and, if you wish, we will publish your name on our website with dog of your choice.

Inari

Alaskan Husky 7.6.2013

Inari is a kind, social and calm girl who really enjoys human attention and scratching. Inari often works as a top dog in a sledge team and gets along with almost everyone. As the mother of the M-litter, Inari was exemplary taking very good care of the puppies. At a younger age, Inari has also won the Match Show dog competition.

Ipana

Alaskan Husky 18.10.2013

Ipana is recognizable by his personal coloring and beautiful blue eyes, which often garner a lot of admiration. As an independent dog, Ipana does not make herself the center of attention but as a draft dog, she is really hardworking and adaptable. And because of this adaptability, Ipana is one of our reliable dogs that can work with everyone.

Jirka

Siberian Husky 13.12.2014

Our adorable fluffy Jirka dog is very kind and a bit of a witty guy. Jirka is almost never in a hurry to get back to his own kennel but would love to socialize with other dogs all day. When working with Jirka, it is worth being smart and remember that Jirka is also really keen to a food.

Kaasu "Gas"

Alaskan Husky 2.6.2015

Kaasu, the handsome bachelor of the kennel, has been a permanent member of our competition team since the age of 1.5. Today Kaasu is often the leader dog of the competition team. Although Kaasu is a two-time medium-distance Finnish Champion, our “champs” also do safari work in winter with other dogs.

Kapa

Alaskan Husky 15.7.2015

The sweet button eye Kapa is a very active boy who would not be able to wait to go to work. However, Kapa’s roommate is sometimes required to have a long temper as Kapa’s enthusiasm can sometimes be frustrating for other dogs. With humans, Kapa is a very affectionate lap dog.

Mini

Alaskan Husky 16.6.2017

Inari’s son Mini got his name as soon as he was born, as he was much smaller than his other siblings. However Mini grew into the litter’s biggest “Bugs Bunny” quite quickly. Mini is the calmest of his litter and like Ipana, he is one of our most reliable dogs when comes need to support other sledge teams.

Naarmu "Scratch"

Alaskan Husky 16.7.2018

Kaasu’s niece Naarmu is a kind and social girl, but she can be heard when she goes to work. As an Alaskan Husky, Naarmu has a very long tail  which sometimes swings more the dog than it’s tail. Naarmu has inherited a way to hold a person’s hand from his grandfather, and often wants to walk with “hand in hand”.

Pixie

Alaskan Husky 15.7.2019

The wildly fast-paced young Miss Pixie is most electric dog of all our Support Dogs. The upcoming winter season for Pixie is hers first in terms of sled dog. Based on the first workouts, it seems like we’re going really fast! Pixie likes attention, but because of her energy she doesn’t always stay in place for long time. With Pixie basic dog training is still a key part meaning and she doesn’t have to know everything yet.

Riitu

Alaskan Husky 12.8.2020

Riitu is the calmest of her litter and has the greatest appetite of all. Despite her calmness, Riitu is a fast-paced and curious young lady who thinks she gets to know the world by tasting. Riitu is still so young that she does not yet do sled dog’s work in the team, but is constantly getting to know new things and environments. Currently we are having basic dog training, learning how to travel in a car and move on a leash.

Rusina "Raisin"

Alaskan Husky 12.8.2020

Rusina is a slightly faster-paced girl than her sister Riitta, and at the moment she probably likes wrestling games the most. Of course the character of the puppy is still developing, but Rusina seems to be a fairly strong character who even likes to eat the friends’ food. Due to his young age, Rusina does not participate in sledge team but learns new things every day. Currently we are having basic dog training, learning how to travel in a car and move on a leash.
