Liability
Vuokatti Safaris acts with foresight, caution, diligence, and appropriate health and safety measures in accordance with Finnish laws and regulations, as well as the recommended standards and best practices for Finnish activity service providers, when delivering services under these terms and conditions.
All information on the vuokattisafaris.com website is subject to change. Vuokatti Safaris Oy reserves the right to update or modify any descriptions or content on its website without prior notice. Liability Insurance
Vuokatti Safaris Oy and its partners hold a valid liability insurance as required by law. We strongly recommend that all customers have personal travel insurance and ensure that the coverage is appropriate and valid before the trip.
Motor Liability Insurance
All motor vehicles used in traffic in Finland must have valid motor liability insurance. Compensation for damages or injuries caused by road traffic accidents is covered by the valid motor liability insurance of the vehicle responsible for the accident. According to regulations, a person who has suffered personal injury has the right to receive compensation for medical expenses, pain and suffering, and any permanent harm, in accordance with the terms of the insurance policy and Finnish laws and regulations. Compensation amounts are based on tariffs defined by Finnish legislation and authorities. Property damage is, by law, covered up to a maximum of €3,300,000. However, if the injured party has caused the damage intentionally or through gross negligence, they are not entitled to compensation.
Snowmobile Programs:
All snowmobiles used during safaris are insured in accordance with Finnish law. The insurance coverage follows the terms of the compulsory traffic insurance described above, and any compensation is determined under the applicable Finnish legislation. The aforementioned conditions also apply in all other respects.
Participants are responsible for any damage caused to the snowmobiles. In case of an accident, the maximum personal liability per snowmobile is EUR 1000.
The driver of a snowmobile must be at least 18 years old and hold a valid driving license accepted in Finland. The license must be available for inspection during the safari, as the police may check its validity at any time.
Under Finnish law, operating a snowmobile under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited. As a responsible activity provider, Vuokatti Safaris reserves the right to alter routes, schedules, and durations of excursions based on prevailing weather conditions, safety considerations, or participant comfort. Vuokatti Safaris also reserves the right to interrupt or cancel a safari if a participant is deemed to pose a risk to themselves or others, or if they are in poor condition.
Pregnant Participants
Vibration and exhaust fumes may be harmful, and due to the inherent risk of accidents, we do not recommend participating in snowmobile or husky programs during pregnancy.
Force Majeure
Vuokatti Safaris shall not be held liable for any failure, damage, or loss resulting from a force majeure event or from unreasonable deterioration of its operational conditions due to such an event (including but not limited to war, strike, lockout, or weather conditions that make service delivery impossible or unsafe, e.g., lack of snow).
If a force majeure event occurs, Vuokatti Safaris must promptly notify the other party in writing. Vuokatti Safaris is also obligated to keep the other party informed about the continuation of the force majeure situation and to report any relevant changes in circumstances during the event. During a force majeure event, Vuokatti Safaris shall take all reasonable measures available to minimize the impact of the situation on the fulfillment of its contractual obligations.
